Crime in Stereo - Radio 1 Live In Session 2007

If I ran the world, everyone would have to love Crime in Stereo. They're just bloody brilliant. Is Dead was fantastic and very ballsy. Totally turning away from the hardcore scene as it is now.

Sometime in 2007 they did a session on the BBC Radio 1 punk show... thing. You know. I don't listen to the radio myself, but I listened to this for them - and recorded it. Although I didn't record it brilliant, I didn't have the best tools for the job, still - it's listenable.

They played 'Bicycles for Afghanistan', 'Slow Math' and 'I'm on the Guestlist, Motherfucker'. Enjoy.

Thought Riot - 2005 Demos

I realise not many people even know who this band are anymore. They were on Anti-Flag's record label (cleverely titled A-F Records) way back when and have pretty much split. Apparently they said they'd play some local shows still but I don't think they have done yet. They were, though very good. They had a certain old AFI vibe about them with the political punk thing mixed in as well.

These Demos (recorded in 2005) were never released or even mentioned by the band. I found them purely by accident. They were uploaded to their website... only they were never linked. The only way I found them was by searching through the site's directory under mp3. I'm unsure if I was the only one who ever bothered to do it. So here are the songs that were there:

Refused - The Shape of Punk to Come [DVD-Audio]

So I am admittedly a huge Refused fan. It seems no one online ever had the DVD Audio version of The Shape of Punk to Come. For those who don't know the different, Wikipedia will keep you wise(ish):

In 2004, a DVD-Audio version of the album was released, remixed in 5.1-channel Surround Sound. Many of the songs have been compositionally altered, some significantly. "Bruitist Pome #5," for example, has been thoroughly reworked, while a seven-minute version of "Refused Are Fuckin' Dead" jarringly transitions into a new second half, which incorporates elements of the Bombe Je Remix of the song. Other songs have received new intros or outros.

So there you go. Here it is. Thanks to me and my kindness. It's in OGG so you'll probably need Foobar2000 as your player or the iTunes patch that lets you play OGG files. I was originally going to rip it to FLAC but the file sizes were huge.

Welcome, y'all.

So this is my music blog thing. Everyone else is doing it and it makes a change from my usual blogging about football. This is my second love.

So in this blog I'll be trying to post up as many rare stuff and up and coming bands as I can. As well as trying to avoid being slapped on the wrist for posting naughty material. Not that sort of naughty.

Enjoy.
